Carl Wright

Club coach

Playing history: Played National League for Chelmsford hockey Club and Southgate Hockey Club in goal. 

Coaching: Level 2 coach who has previously coached youth at Chelmsford Hockey Club and also used to coach at Dunmow Hockey Club. 

Away from hockey: Works for Cofunds as Head of Solution Delivery.

David Bull

Men's 1st XI Coach

Playing history: Has been a member of Braintree Hockey Club for a number of years and used to play in the 1st team.Has spent a number of years umpiring in the top East Leagues and now is starting his coaching career.

Coaching: Level 1 coach 

Away from hockey: Enjoys rowing and cricket 

Other interests: 

Trevor Waspe

Mens Club Coach

Playing History: Trevor used to play for Chelmsford as well as Little Baddow and Witham. He is well known around the hockey community for being able to finish chances from anywhere in the D.

Coaching: Level 2 coach who is coaching within the Essex setup

Andie Edwards

Ladies Coach

Playing history: Has been a member of the club for a number of years and was involved in the youth coaching for Braintree Hockey Club a number of years ago. During this time he worked with players who went on to play for GB and play National League.

Coaching: Level 1 coach

Away from hockey: 

Other interests: Andy also enjoys umpiring for the club as and when required.



Harry Croft

Ladies Coach

Playing history: Has played for the club for a number of years having come through the youth. For a number of years he played in the lower teams but in the 2016/17 season he moved through to play for the mens 1st XI and own most improved player of the season.

Kieran Welsh

Ladies Coach

Playing history: Has lined the club relatively recently and started by playing on pitch. More recently he has chosen to put on the pads and play in goal which now seems him as the mens 2nd XI keeper pushing for the 1st XI spot.

Coaching: Starting coaching career but is a level 2 sports coach as part of his college course

Away from hockey: Also enjoys racing.
