Junior Prizegiving over Zoom

On Sunday 21 June 90 junior hockey players joined the Prize Giving event which this year due to COVID 19 we had to run virtually on Zoom. With the help of technology all players were able to meet in their own teams and then all came together for the Club video and then the awards.

The video had been put together by Sandra Earley who had received over 100 clips and this managed to link them all together and add music. It has been loaded on the site for members to see.

After the video Gill Stringer gave an overview of the short 2019 season

“Overall the Braintree Blue Hornets this season have had 11 teams. Together they have trained for 4.5 hours on two pitches every Sunday and for 1.5 hours every Friday evening with record attendances at both. They have about 170 players and have played over 200 matches, have qualified for 4 Regional Finals with the U10 A team boys becoming Essex Champions and Runners Up at the Copper Box so quite rightly taking the Team of the Season award!”

The End of Season video summed up the passion of the players for the sport and club that they love and we cannot wait to get back to full time hockey again soon.
