We are the Braintree BLUE HORNETS, the junior part of BRAINTREE HOCKEY CLUB. We train from September to Easter with a break over Christmas. We carry out most of our training and matches at Felsted School.

The junior hockey programme coaching and match programme is managed by the Club's Junior Team, supported by a committed group of volunteer coaches, managers and helpers. We are always looking for more volunteers to ensure our junior programme can flourish, please do get in touch if you are able to provide any help.

Our MINIS section is for U8's -U12's and they train and play matches on Sundays.

Our YOUTH section is for U14's-U16's. Our U14's train on a Sunday but have the option to join our U16's on Thursday evenings. Both age groups play matches on a Sunday.

Players aged 13 years may also train with the Men's section on a Tuesday for boys or the Ladies' training on a Wednesday evening for the girls and be available for selection for the Adult matches on a Saturday. Please speak to your child's coach at any time if you have any queries regarding development opportunities or contact David Malthouse.

Other basic information:
All players will need a gumshield, stick and shinpads and be registered with the club to train and play.

Club Kit can be bought fromThe Hockey Centre.

Preloved Kit is also available please contact Alex BIshop to make donations or enquire regarding stock.

Fees for the 2025/26 season will be:
U8's - U12's: £115
U14's - U16's: £150 (+ Match Fees) or £262 (All Inclusive)
Discounts are available for siblings and family groups
Adult matches have an additional £9 match fee.
