The Club has been advised that Chris Skilton has recently died. He is likely to be remembered by some older members.
Chris is known to have been a member by the early 1970`s and possible before and remained a member and player until the mid-1990`s or thereabouts. He was a good club man always enthusiastic and willing to play for any team in any position. Moreover, he was happy to help out with the running of hockey within the Club and elsewhere. He was the organiser and leading light in the team known as the Essex Ramblers. They played quality hockey at many tournaments, but the post-match socialising was equally important to him and others. He was a man of fun even if a little scatty on occasions.
He was married to Vicky who died a few months before Chris. Together they had 2 children Robert and Richard both of whom played youth hockey at Braintree along with his nephew Will Farr. The Club sends sincere condolences to both of them. His funeral is at 2pm 8th September Little Easton Church
