The 2021 Summer Hockey Season started in glorious sunshine on Sunday with the visit of Brentwood and the return of our former chairman.

A tough game was expected and duly delivered. A somewhat rusty first half ended scoreless. Both teams creating a few chances but none taken.

The second half opened up more, The Knight hit the post early on and would go on to rue that miss.

Brentwood went 2-0 up before Waspe tapped in from close range to make the final score 1-2.

But the result was not as important as playing. A great game, hard fought, in good spirit. A few beers were sold and we eagerly await the return leg.

Next up for the Knights is on May 9th at home vs Sudbury, followed by Essex Young Farmers (subject to official clearance) on May 30th.
