2. How To Join


Welcome to Braintree Hockey Club!

Club membership is administered through our website and allows members to sign up to the club and pay online. This enables the club to be effective in its member administration, as well as tracking player availability and team selection. This is a requirement for our CASC status and will be followed by all teams.

New club members receive 2 free training sessions for Men's, Ladies, Youth and Mini's. Rush and Walking new members receive 2 free sessions.

To join Braintree Hockey Club:

  1. Register with the club website by clicking the JOIN button on the top right hand corner of this website (make sure that you confirm your email address)
  2. Choose what role you would like to apply for: Player or Club (associate) Member
  3. Fill in your registration details to request to join the club and add your photo
  4. All Under 18's need a parent or guardian who should join the club as Parent role
  5. Go to the Shop section to pay your membership online

Subscriptions
All members of Braintree Hockey Club pay an annual subscription to join the club and players who play senior matches pay a match fee.

  • There are different membership options available, depending on age and circumstances of the member.
  • The club offers a variety of discounts which are covered on the attached list of fees and subs
  • To qualify for any discount, members must fully complete the membership form with up-to-date information and photograph.
  • The club would like to encourage parents and spectators to join the club as an associate social member.

Discounts and installments are available to playing members:

  • Paying by installments will be available for all membership types, if first payment is PRIOR to 30 September or within 30 days of joining.
  • All discounts require date of birth and full membership details on the club database
  • Family discount applies to 3rd family playing member by age & is only applicable to Under 18’s (ie Players 1 & 2 pay full, Player 3 pays discounted rate).
  • Discounted option is available to - aged over 65, age 16-18, unemployed,Full time education age 19+.
  • Those in full time education aged 19 + need to enter university attending on membership record for discount.
  • Social membership includes automatic entry to the 200 Club (1-number/monthly draw)
  • A 5% excess charge of sub option chosen will be charged if full payment for year or an agreed payment method is not in place by 31 October. For people joining after 15th October it will be 30 days.

Match Fees for senior hockey

1. Match fees for Senior members not paying all inclusive rate
Match fees are due after your selection is confirmed and the game has completed. Teas are available for home games, subject to covid restrictions in force at the time.

2. Match fees for discounted members and U14's-U16's players not paying all inclusive rate.
Match fees are due after your selection is confirmed and the game has completed. Teas are available for home games, subject to covid restrictions in force at the time.

ALL MATCH FEES ARE COLLECTED VIA PITCHERO PROCESS.

FOR NEW JUNIOR MEMBERS

If you're new to the Club, please set-up your parent account by clicking on Join this Club - top right hand corner of the home page. Use your details, save your contact information, then proceed to ROLES and tick the Parent role - Add name of your child by starting to type in the box. Scroll down to Add New Child. Again complete the profile information requested and the tick ROLES and choose Player - choose the correct age group for your child - see further information in the junior section. Club Admin will approve your application, or if age group is full will contact you to discuss what to do next.

Existing parents/junior players:
Please login to your parent account – click on your name on top right hand corner and a drop down menu will appear!

Ensure all the profile and contact information for you and your child is up to date, this can be updated in Settings – please also check you’re up to date on receiving emails and SMS messages via Pitchero (also in Settings).

On the same drop down list – click on membership >Braintree Hockey Club – click on your child/rens name check your child/ren are still in the correct age groups. If he/she is moving up then click on Roles and apply to be in the age group they should be in on 1st September 2019 and delete the age group they’ve just left. See Information - Juniors on home page for correct age groups based on 1st September.

When all this is done, please go to the home page, click on Payments and click on the correct payment box for your child. Please note you’ll be asked Who you’re buying this product for – add your Child’s name here, so we can link it to their part of the account. If you have more than one child, I’m afraid you’ll have to go through the payment process separately for each child, no shopping baskets yet at Pitchero.
